Separation devices are means to create groups of ideas, actions, navigation, or media to help communicate to a user or direct their behavior. For instance, navigation might be kept in a colored box at the top, a sidebar of information could be separated with a line from the main text, and people often set different vibration patterns to distinguish between an alarm versus a text message.
They are most often used stylistically to communicate groups and organize information. Often paired with <a href="http://interactionlibrary.jacklynn.com/49/proximity/">proximity</a>, <a href="http://interactionlibrary.jacklynn.com/47/order/">order</a>, and <a href="http://interactionlibrary.jacklynn.com/9/color/">color</a> to accomplish this. |
